My Experience in Guerrero: A Sanctuary for Vision and Community

The land in Guerrero was sacred in every sense. Just four years ago, it was virgin territory, and now, thanks to the vision of Tara Medina and Andres Saavedra, Casa Musa has become a 200-acre oasis, hosting retreats, customized homes, a sustainable farm, and a community-centric sustainability plan. As entrepreneurs and women thought leaders gathered from the East, West, Midwest, and Hawaii, we finally met face-to-face after months of weekly Zooms in an Emancipation Plan Cohort. Under Rha Goddess’s nurturing leadership, we were poured into, seen, and supported in a way that all entrepreneurs need.
The days were filled with grounding, masterminds, whole foods, Kundalini yoga, and powerful professional development sessions with Rha. From a temazcal (sweat lodge) that cleansed our spirits and connect us to the power of the ancestors, to early morning yoga with majestic horses grazing near the pond, every detail set the tone for a life-changing experience. Even the detailed attention and warmth of the staff enveloped us with nourishing, often vegan, farm-to-table meals that were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. I felt taken care of in a way I’ll carry with me for the rest of the year—and hopefully until we gather again.
This retreat was intentional, purposeful, and unique. It wasn’t your typical kumbaya gathering; it was a place where women crafted individual master plans, collaborated on new projects, and witnessed each other's zones of genius. Being surrounded by nature, community, and visionary guidance allowed each of us to channel our purpose in ways that went above and beyond what I expected.
When I booked the trip, I didn’t realize I’d be leaving on Election Day—a divine twist with a canceled and rebooked flight that seemed like God setting my nervous system up for exactly what I needed. I felt so at peace in paradise, entirely detached from the noise back home. Sipping cacao around a bonfire, we processed the events with radical acceptance, knowing that while the world may not yet be ready for a Black woman to lead, the vision and impact Kamala Harris ignited in just 108 days were undeniable. Those qualities—VISION and COMMUNITY—are what I’ll hold onto.
My soul felt rested, my mind calm, free from TVs, free from distractions. Just nature, community, and guidance. This wasn’t just a retreat; it was a blueprint for living with purpose and connection.
Special Shout out to the entire Staff at Casa Musa, the incredible women in my cohort of the Emancipation Plan, @AnnaGryglewska and of course @RhaGoddess
